Stock Plans
Stock plans are sold as follows:
- 5 set package
- 5 sets of black line prints provide enough plans to meet construction needs for the seasoned builder
- 8 set package
- 8 sets of black line prints provides the homeowner with all the builder needs, plus extra sets for themselves, the bank and a safety set
PDF or Reproducible Set
This type of plan provides many advantages. First, the homeowner or builder can print copies as they are needed. The PDF set allows for email capability and sizing prints to the request of the lender or sub-contractor. All pages of a set of plans do not have to be sent to everyone, minimizing cost and theft.
This type of plan also comes with a license to modify. This is perfect for someone building in an area where plans may need to be reviewed for code compliance allowing the designer/architect in your area to add notes and details needed to comply with your local building permit office.
This also gives the purchaser a license to modify.
CADD File (DXF format)
Although modifications can be done with the purchase of a PDF/Reproducible set, it is sometimes easier to purchase the CADD file so the local designer/architect can work with the plan on their own computer. Very few firms draft by hand any more. This service is a convenience to the purchaser in hopes that time and money will be saved when changes are made preventing a plan from having to be completely redrawn.
